Cairngorm website

Is still down - posting last night's information from some proxy page or other. Annoying!

Web design is not my thing but the whole front page has become v messy of late - different fonts, colours, underlines here there and everywhere.

CML really should take a look at some of the other areas offerings - far far superior.

Nice point, agree, but think other resorts could improve too, tbh. I guess after this season all the resorts will have plenty of nice pics to put up and may look to spending some of their pennies on constructing better website too? fingers crossed, as these days it's all about getting the info and links on the webi-ma-jig, via a dongle or two.. smiling smiley

Just have a quick run round

and then [79.170.43.19] (as it is at the moment!)

There really is no comparison - and I bet CML manage to pay more for their site as well winking smiley

All of the sites quoted do still have issues in common with many modern sites: information hidden behind cryptic drop down menus, welcome pages and obscure page titles. Remember these sites have got to sell the resort to the customer on the day and not two months in advance. All should be seeking to make weather, snow conditions, opening hours, a piste map and prices summary available either on the first screen or within one click of the first screen.

Latest weather info is in a small, scrolling box on the left hand side. No sense of being current. No overall summary of what's open. Opening times clearly advertised.

RSS feeds linked on front page but no actual weather or lift reports. Opening times hidden behind a drop-down menu.

Summer landing page with no snow on show - you've got to click through one page for a weather summary and two pages to get the full report. Opening times clearly advertised once you get to the skiing page.

Info clearly summarised on the front page with big links to the full report. Opening times clearly advertised. Probably the best for ease of finding info.

and then [79.170.43.19] (as it is at the moment!)

While it's been a complete mess there have been good updates posted to the page in the past few days. The will is clearly there to get information out.
