The excitement is building, the sun is set to shine and preparations are almost complete for the event of the year.
No not the Royal Wedding.......
.........the MacAvalanche.
No Fuss are on the hill today marking out the route and it promises to be truly spectacular.
However they have a big decision to make.
To ride the "Haggis trap or not"
The Haggis trap looked pretty gnarly to me when I walked down the route yesterday but there were plenty of bike tracks heading through it. (I believe there has been some secret practice going on this week).
Find out tomorrow if the route takes the adventure line through the haggis trap or skirts round via Happy Valley. (Either way it's going to be spectacular).
The top of the course is looking to be in good shape with patches of snow linking pretty much all the way from the top of the main basin.
....and from the rescue shed down the trails are firm and dry and should provide a great riding surface all the way to the carpark.
We're taking bets on how long it's going to take the winner to get from the summit to the carpark. A free day pass for the winner. Go to our Facebook page to take part. [

The access chairlift will be running for spectators from 9am however from there you will need to walk up the hill to the best viewing spots.
(Unfortunately for HSE reasons the Cliffhanger chair is only available for competitors).
From the top of the access chair to the summit will probably take about 1hr if you're reasonably fit. The best viewing is probably on the knoll just above the Haggis trap (probably a 45min walk from the top of the access chair).
For those a little less fit you can catch the excitement from the picnic area at the top of the access chair or from the carpark.
