Glenmore Lodge cancelled winter courses for the rest of the season in March, so check out what they have available - might be some special offers on if its quiet. Unfortunately you can't check availability online, give them a call on 01479 861256.

If I do come up I will drive up and down again the same day. Is the train running for uplift at the moment and if so how much is it, or is the skiing only accessible from hiking up? would be great to get a few turns in at cairngorm.

Weather permitting the West Wall Poma is scheduled for uplift for Monday for the Ciste Fairway, Funicular for access. Day tickets were £15 on Saturday. See CairnGorm report page for latest in the morning.

Hi Rick, heres a pic of the Ciste and one from around the back of Cairngorm looking towards Ben Macdui. I took them yesterday so its probably changed a good deal since then! There were a lot of patches at 14:30 yesterday!

Tupp, might have been your tracks I saw on the patch beneath the tor as I was over there between 1.30pm and 2.30pm on Sunday.

Rick, ski hire has been closed over the weekend. Check Cairngorm's website just in case they reopen if there is good snow cover later in the week.

Maybe someone else can recommend a good hire place. Not havng hired I wouldn't like to say.

I used to hire from the place opp the train station, (think it is/was nevis sport?)
Never been a problem and were flexible when we returned the gear early due to closed slopes (let us move hire to next day no extra charge)

No worries I will find somewhere. Helen, are you up every day? Would be good to put a name to a face! I will probably ski the Thursday or Friday.

I'm not up every day Rick, but as it's the school holidays I'm off work this week so if conditions are good I'll probably be around. Maybe see you then, if the forecasted snow arrives.

If you found a big hole where I face planted, they were my tracks! I waved at someone at around that time. White helmet?

No, black helmet.

I didn't see anyone on skis, and no big holes except for the ones my feet made when the snow gave way when I was walking over what I thought was snow covered rock ! Saw boarder tracks as well as ski tracks. Hopefully they will all be covered up by now !

I notice Cairngorm reporting insufficient snow for snow sports today, I thought the only reason the West Wall Poma wasn’t running was due to wind direction not lack of snow????

I thought the Ciste Fairway was still skiable.
