Not so funny if you had bought your kids brand new skis and boots at the start of the season and due to work and family commitments, The first chance they get to go skiing will be in Xscape tomorrow! And to top it off the oldest one announces she now wants to learn to snow board!

Alan, why are you still displaying (and have done all season) the green pic from the ex-ptarmigan cam? It was horrifically misleading when there was snow.

The cam is still there and ready to go online. The promised new window has still not appeared! It is however a fair representation of current conditions! sad smiley

That's still no reason to leave a Ciste webcam showing green all season, should have stuck the duck up or something :x

It prompted a comment on An Càrn Gorm facebook that had me laughing out loud - a single 5 letter word totally inapropriate for facebook which I am sure will offend many - probably pretty close to what I may have said face to face with Ops1

Indeed. I wish. Thing is, 2 years previously on the same date it would have been totally believable!

Are you still able to take skis up the train for skiing the patches of snow over the back?? Can you buy a return ticket only for this?

Nope, your not alowed out the Ptarmigan building at the top if you take the train unless your on one of the walk @ the top tours. One of the big recurring debates at Cairngorm. If you want to ski you have to walk from the bottom.

If the mountain is not officially open for snowsports and the closed system is in place unfortunately you have to walk up. You can however enter the Ptarmigan Restaurant when you are up there and use the facilities in the top station if you so wish via the Walkers Entrance and you can also take the Funicular down.

Cheers for the info fair old walk for my old legs though. With the new snow and the Lecht reporting open for Wednesday looks a better bet.

noticed the ptarmigan web cam now pointing down under the window....not much info on likelihood of skiing, was pointing across the slopes this morning...shame

ski club WH cam looks more promising

Be nice to skiers...they have enough problems already
