Looks like we might have a GPRS hiccup in the vicinity of Glencoe, the cams which are not ADSL connected have stopped updating. sad smiley

Hopefully it's a temp blip, not a result of the Summit hut and SSC hut blowing away!

Either intermittent power or internet at Glencoe, only getting occasional connections to the Access Chair camera. The window is obliterated by wet snow, so I've set it up to look out the other window as standard for today down the chair line - if the connection returns.

Already had a 95mph gust in the carpark and the brief period I could control the Access Cam saw a chair lying ontop of the haul rope!

Already posted elsewhere, but Glencoe will not attempt to open on Friday with the forecast for storms to continue into Friday morning and the severity of conditions on the mountain today.

Had a gust of 95mph in the car park already and the main action isn't here yet according to the forecast. SSC camera has picked up a vodafone signal from somewhere and is now uploading images again in the last 20mins, having been down yesterday, this one you can still see out of.

The SSC anemometer is lying on the ground against the hut, weighted down by a rock awaiting a new mast and fixings, none the less it just reported a 69mph gust - tells you all we need to know !!

No live webcam pics today, hope this doesn't mean much damage up on the hill. Desperate to see/hear what's state the place is in after the storm. Guess people are busy fixing stuff at the moment...

Up until a few minutes ago none of the Ski Areas had electricity (except Glenshee which isn't on the mains). Power came back on (briefly?) on the 'Gorm, one web cam image from the SSC Hut, so it's still there at least!

Not sure if the Lecht is still able to run tows without mains power or whether they still have any of their generator capacity from before they were grid connected.

Still no power at Glencoe, if the local spur to the Ski Centre is damaged that could be an additional delay. Looks like Sunday at the earliest for some uplift at the moment.

Glencoe remains without power or phone service this evening, the latest from Hydro Electric suggests reconnection for tomorrow evening. There has been significant damage done on the hill over and above cable derailments - though amazingly the Access Chair didn't derail at all!

Staff who've been there a long time don't remember anything like this. The good news though is there's more snow than at any point last season on Meall a' Bhuiridh. smiling smiley

The main office building which houses the car park level AWS which recorded a 105mph gust, was partially demolished by the wind on Thursday - so unlikely it will be possible to find out what the Weather Station recorded after the power went off!

Here's whats just been posted on the report page:

STAFF ARE STILL ON THE MOUNTAIN WORKING TO REPAIR STORM DAMAGE THIS EVENING AT TIME OF UPDATE. SKI AREA STILL WITHOUT POWER OR COMMUNICATIONS.

We hope to be able to open on Sunday morning, dependent on power being restored during Saturday as predicted.

There has been damage, with two lift huts completely gone, the bottom of the Access Chair and Plateau Poma. Staff have been working all day and now have the Access Chair back in operation.

The Cliffhanger Drive Station has lost it's roof.

The hope is to be fully open on Sunday, but check for updates. There has been significant new snow accumulations since Thursday morning, with cover to the foot of the Access Chair.
