Heading up tomorrow for a look. Might take some nordic skis up to have a look around. In braemar this evening it is 5 below so the ground should be getting nice and cold.

Just back from a look around. Just as i pulled in the New chair was spinning, though no chairs on it yet.

Alot of new fences on the Carinwell side, and all Pomas are on. No sign of the T Bars yet. Not a huge amount of snow around, though it is blowing in. Should be able to get a ski in tomorrow on some touring skis around Butcharts T bar. Wont be venturing far from the snow fences thats for sure.

Also looks like the 2 new Piste Bashers have arrived. The Second one looks like a refurbished 170, which i believe will be used for taking supplies around the mountain.

Glenshee really dont say much about what they have done, but this summer they have put in nearly 4km of new fencing, have 2 new Piste Machines, have a new chairlift up, a new begginer rope tow and i understand they are moving the snow park to a better location. All great improvements

Didnt realise it was two new piste machines. Is the new one a 600?

I was going to go up today but just didnt get round to it.

On their facebook they say there will be lots of updates this week.

The new piste machine is another 600, which means that they have 2 600's now.

I noticed a few snowboard tracks today, wonder if any winter highlanders will take credit for them

There is a rumour in the village that snow is expected on Thursday, so i wonder if there might be a chance of being open on the week end?

I think there is snow forecast this week but not a massive amount. It seems mother nature is being a bit stingy with the snowfall in the east. I think we are looking at the following weekend unless something remarkable happens.

Panoramic is back now.

What is annoying is the temperature on the homepage has been saying 10 deg every day for the past month at least.

What i did see today was about 7 people out working on the hill. So maybe there is no one left inside to update the web page.

There has certainly been some good work been done and reinvestment.

The new PB600 to go with last years will make heaps of difference as well as the refurbished 170.

No pommas on any of the Caenlochan lift side that i saw yesterday. Don't think there is huge amounts of snow forecast this coming week but it all helps.

maybe just as well, will take me till next week to put my board back together smiling smiley good to see the webcams up again though. if anyones tempted to head up, keep on the east sides of the hills, drifted to a fair depth in some spots, enough to hide the jaggy rocks at least :O

They dont usually update their weather reports over summer but I always thought the current temperature was automatic? Or maybe that was switched off over summer too.

I think as well as other things the refurbed 170 will be ideal for moving the rails and other equipment of that nature around the area. So maybe we will see Glenshee developing their park further this year? They did say on their facebook page that they will be updating us all this week on their "new toys" and other things. Having said that remember the Scottish Highlander freestyle comp is coming to Glenshee this year as well as the SAAB snowcross champs.

Im going to make an effort to get up on Thursday, missed my opertunity today, And even if theres no new snow I hope theres still some to ski on smiling smiley

I cant wait to see the webcam looking like this again [a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net]

Also on a comment to someones post on their facebook page they say there is a "big update" coming this week.

From what I can tell it sounds like Glenshee has been keeping quiet all summer and all will be unvailed this week grinning smiley

Well had a tour up Asoda today. A few people out on skis. Came back down Butcharts and managed to ski to the car park via the plastic. Base got the odd scratch but nothing major.

The good news was that as i was leaving chairs were being lifted onto the new chairlift.

Also T Bars on the Cairnwell were being put on. Again there is talk of some snow tonight and tomorrow. The uplifts will need some snow to blow in to make them skiable. Cairnwell side though is not needing to much snow from opening up aslong as it stays cold.
