another lull in the conditions to endure

Yeah its back to the problem with sunnyside being very thin due to no real base. Tom Dearg & the Cluny's are still good. Coire Fionn will still be good.

The Baddoch went off today from the wind. Plastic was commissioned instead. Cairnwell T-bar wasnt on. And as said as said Caenlochan was off and therefor Coire Fionn. Allot of lifts were on/off with the wind. Though apparently the guys were fixing Caenlochan today, with blow torches. And a groomer has been repairing the home run.

Full width on the Dink Dink though!

Some of the gusts were pretty mighty. Knocked lots of people off their feet!

Surely the sunnyside chair could be used for downloading. This would provide access to loads of snow right into Coire Fionn when sunnyside gets bare.

For want of better words... Oh dear!

Come on everybody get dancing as the snow forecast this weekend could be what determines the few weeks ahead.

Few runs are now complete and walking is required coming off sunnyside.

it must be bad Cammy if you are saying "oh dear"...
I was over in Norway today for a work trip, they have had loads of snow further north there, shame it can move a few hundred miles further West...

The usual suspects have suffered badly. Unfortunately we are back to just the Cairnwell side. And like last time we are going to need quite a large amount of snow to bring back access to the other 2 valleys.

I cannae deny that its depressing. BUT. Dont be so put off, remember cairnwell red race track is still excellent and still loads of Snow on Butcharts to be enjoyed. And the Baddoch Chairlift will be providing easy peasy swift access to the snow. With the Cairnwell cafe being the main hub of operations. We've seen it much worse already this season, and back then it didnt stop people having a great time.

I also beleive the park has been repaired and reshaped where necessary.

But its times like these that make us appreciate how great the last two season actually were. But dont be so down. Any snow is good snow. Go have fun.

what a difference a snow shower can make...

godd visibility and sunny in the morning with boiler plate conditions and bare patches on claybookie and butchards made it very difficult for beg/interm

race track was very hard but smooth so was negotiable by experts

then just before lunch we got a snow shower which dumped 1 inch or snow in 30min and subsequent very heavy showers on a strong wind added to this and was still snowing when I left at 4.30pm, hard to tell how much fell as redistribution on strong winds

race track was by then 60% fresh powder in wind blown stashes and some icy bits...what fun didnt stop lapping it until they closed the lift at 4.15pm

wind was very strong all day, calmer lower down in sheltered areas

a great powder reward for those who decided to stay and brave out the icy conditions

not enough to open more runs but what an improvement

Damn! The Ski School & I had had enough by 1pm and went home.

It was, as the liftie described, bulletproof this morning. Proper hard stuff & largely ungroomed due to the wind (apparently).

Going to get up whenever I can early this week as it wont be pretty by next weekend.

Just been skiing the Braemar golf course this evening. Some good drifts developing low down, so hopefully the same is happening up the hill. If they can consolidate what comes, just maybe they can survive the next week. finger, arms and legs crossed

Interesting day today! Mix of nice deep powder and bomb proof ice with a liberal sprinkling of rocky bits. Definitely a day to keep you on your toes anyway. Best bits off the cairnwell t, red race track best piste but a huge margin, but most fun to be had rockhopping off piste.,worst bits around the acces poma, a run best avoided, tbh should really have been shut down it was that icy and narrow.

Good efforts from the gs staff to keep stuff patched, and a big thumbs down to tayside polis for keeping the mostly black road shut till half ten. Speaking of which, flugeryl, by any chance were you third back in the q in a black skoda? Someone who looks a lot your wh pic was anyway :-)

yeh that was me, arrived at 8am....to say I was angry at the council man is an understatement

road was ready to open at 9am snow plough had done its thing

Grampian police told the council man he could open, but his responce was your no a tayside polis so it stays shut

GS staff were not allowed up either

some cars turned around with their cash still in their pockets... a crime in itself

will complaining change anything...no IMHO the bureaucrats will quote line for line procedure, saying any deviation from this is unsafe...i.e. they will spout a lot of bollocks and change nothing while buisnes's in the area suffer

Tayside police to complain about the procedure used to ensure the road is safe to open

Complaints about quality of service

These are complaints about the way we do things, for example, our policies and procedures for dealing with certain incidents or investigations, the delivery of our service and the outcome. These types of complaint normally relate to a perception that

You think the police are not addressing a particular problem
They took a long time to respond to your call
You feel that there is not enough police officers in your area
You do not believe that the police dealt properly with an incident

These complaints do not relate to the actions of an actual member of the Force and are organisational issues. However they are still very real issues of concern to individuals and communities and Tayside Police will conduct enquiry into them accordingly and provide an explanation where appropriate. They will normally be dealt with by supervisory officers of the area where the concerns have been expressed.

How do I make a complaint?

If you think that any police officer(s) or member(s) of police staff has behaved incorrectly or unfairly you have the right to make a complaint.

To do this you need to consider what it is that you are concerned about, for example, has the officer or member of police staff been uncivil towards you, have you been assaulted, or was the level of service expected by you not achieved.

You should make your complaint as soon as possible so that the Investigating Officers are provided with the best opportunity to secure all of the available evidence.

If you decide you wish to register a complaint you may do so by one of the following methods

You may call personally at any police station and ask to speak to a supervisory officer. It is however important to note that ANY police officer can note your initial complaint and thereafter forward it to their supervisor for action.
Write to the Deputy Chief Constable at Tayside Police, Force Headquarters, West Bell Street, Dundee, DD1 9JU
Complete our Online Complaint Form which will be forwarded directly to our Professional Standards Department (please note - this form will only be received by the department during working office hours, Monday to Friday).
Contact your solicitor
Contact your Member of Parliament, Member of the Scottish Parliament or local councillor
Contact or visit your local Citizens Advice Bureau
Contact the Professional Standards Department on 01382 596654. This office is staffed between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. Although your complaint cannot be taken over the telephone advice will be available to you so that you can consider your position.

You can obtain a leaflet, 'Complaints about the Police' which gives advice on how to make a complaint by visiting the Scottish Government website. Alternatively you can obtain a copy from any police station where the leaflet is also available in various languages.

If you prefer to be represented by another person, community group or other organisation, that is acceptable providing it is clear that you have given your authority for that person, group or organisation to act on your behalf. However to progress your complaint it will be necessary to take a statement from you personally but you can be represented at that meeting if you wish.

If necessary we can arrange for an interpreter to be present to assist. If you are under 16 years of age you will be interviewed with a parent or other responsible adult present.

What should I say?

Provide as much information as you can about your complaint
Describe what happened
Say where and when the incident or cause for complaint took place
Give the names and addresses of any witnesses (if you have them)
Give the name or identification of any member(s) of Tayside Police involved if known
