Typical of the frustrations of this season to date.

Only one days window of opportunity to enjoy new snow before most of it melts again, and its a monday....

Had a good day up at Glenshee yesterday - in the bits where it was good, it was REALLY good, but, that said, there were still a few bare patches here and there. Base of my board took a pounding as a result of that.

Heaps of fun playing in the pow in between the blue and red race track runs though. Good day all round!

Shhhhweeet day today.

In a nutshell, shoddy editing but you get the idea. Oh and turn your volume down a bit! [www.youtube.com]

Had probably the best sport of the season so far today, in my oppinion. But we'll need to see what happens on Wednesday. Which happens to be when Im next up.

Forgot the Nikon today and typically there were some very lovely views.

Wonder when the next powder snow/blue sky(ish) day will be?

GAH! I had tomorrow picked out as my mid-week skiing day, but by the looks of the webcams it's not too promising!

webcam not looking to good just now, me and the missus are heading up on Saturday hoping to get some turns in.Got a room booked in the Spittal as well. Do you think it would be a better bet to head on up to the Lecht? how long would it take to drive there from Glenshee.
Ah the joys of Scottish snow!!

drew its about 40-50 mins from Glenshee depending on road conditions/driving speed. But I really dont think the lecht will be any better. Glenshee has allot of snow on certain runs/places yet but the links have suffered badly from the thaw/rain. One of these links being the plastic.

Was up today and it was too wet and windy for any fun really. Real Shame but I'm glad I made the effort on Monday now.

If the baddoch chair gets spinning by the weekend then it wont be that bad. Alternatively I think you'll be walking up.

Appears to be running now according to the lift status on visit scotland site and you can see someone on it on the webcam.

Fine day at Shee today. Perfect clear day, no wind.

Much more skiing than webcam shows you. Cairnwell racetrack (red) is excellent. Butcharts is good. Run down from Poma is mostly good. But narrow section.

Surface was light snow on hard base. "Fast & Hard" was the unofficial patrol description. Plenty of cOntrol with good edges.

Short tour for lunch at Carn a Gheoidh was possible linking patches. Skinned 90% of outward stretch, only a little carrying, and linked patches majority of way back to pistes without resorting to skins. frost & powder on Heather helped link the patches.

Despite limited runs open, it was by far my best day out this winter. Just great to be shot of those winds & clouds.

And several park features being set in place On butcharts, served by tbar.

Cant add more to above other than red race track is most enjoyed with sharp edges at the moment. Butcharts coire was slightly softer so thats where me and my blunt edges spend most of the day.

MJ and his team cracked on with some rails/boxes in preperation for next weekends Highlander comp. At the moment there is one 4 peice long box (like long long) and a rail and smaller box located further down. More coming soon I beleive.

Baddoch chair was earning its keep today no problem at all. Actually makes a significant difference. Seems to have attracted some non snowsports punters as well who were going up the chair and heading to the cafe which is right next door. Only glitch with it atm is offloading at the bottom at the end of the day, Im sure its just teething problems thoug

Otherwise a brilliant day, I just wish they had more snow...

Not much new in the Glenshee world today.

Other than that the park is in great (work in progress) shape. The rails are a beut. Will be up tomorrow afternon.

What a difference the Baddoch chair makes though. I parked about 4 ski lengths away from the chairlift. You can be skiing from the top of the Baddoch literally within 5 minutes of getting your boots on at the back of your car.

Why are Glenshee not making a bigger deal out of this?

They should be getting loads of well deserved PR from this. Its the right investment, the right lift, in exactly the right place and didn't need a taxpayer subsidy.

It was fantastic to see the ski area from a new vantage point high on the lift.

Since the lower gully and plastic slope are pretty sketchy just now it was used for downloading today as well. At times like now, it transforms the access to the reliable snow on Butcharts and Cairnwell.

Lots of happy skiers today at Glenshee, though maybe half were from GPS.

I think everyone else has been put off by the webcams that can't see the snow.
