Down in the Fort yes but on the hills there has been a nice covering of fresh. Difficult to say but judging by the rain radar I would estimate 3-4 inches would have fallen above 2000ft.

Wow. Thatll take some time to put right, lets hope theres no damage to the towers or sheaves themselves or the prospect of such a thing isnt worth thinking about. Hats off to all those who are attempting to fix it.

Is that chair in the foreground damaged? I dont think it is.

Has anyone skied over to the bealach between Aonach Mòr an Aonach Beag yet? I'd imagine the southern facing slopes are much more scoured. Any thoughts?

Looks like the chair in the foreground of that photo tried it's hardest to fly through the haul rope, judging by the state of the safety bar and snapped seat back cover.

Latest update confirms that the chair won't be running this weekend. But with Goose, Alpha and Summit operating that's not really a big deal for intermediate/advanced riders. As expected the snow cover already sounds good and this should only improve, certainly on the upper mountain grinning smiley

Most runs are now complete with good cover. You can easily ski back to below the top station and bottom of the quad chair. For our opening weekend, Saturday 17 December, we plan to run Alpha, Goose T-bar and Summit lifts. Other lifts still need work following the storm damage. Progress will depend on the weather in the coming week as high winds are forecast for most days and this will limit our maintenance time on the hill. There is more snow in the forecast for the next few days. We will update this message towards the end of the week.

Great news that the Goose is sorted Mark. If the forecast is anything to go by there will be alot more pisting to be done during the course of the week!

Should be an epic cover on the hill by the time it opens at the weekend. The backs will be absolutely loaded.

Yeah Chris its is good to see the hill getting ready for the weekend will probably see ya somewhere. winking smiley

The Backs have been stacking up over the last ten days I have been watching them constantly with excitement, also with this weeks snow fall and strong winds it will be loaded. smiling smiley

Im sure people will be riding the Backs on Saturday the first day of the season, that would be an epic start.

It is currently chucking it down with rain but its still -2.9 °C on the Summit,
blustry winds but not too strong at the moment... it will be Dumping and drifting smiling smiley also going in the backs loads of it. smiling smiley

I will try to resist posting a photo of the Backs until Friday, sure it will of improved even more.

Sorry for the excessive amount of smilies in my last two posts I just feel extra happy today for some reason. smiling smiley

No doubt huge quantities of snow have fallen in the last 24hrs (and continue to do so) but winds are now gusting at nearly 100mph on the summit. Whilst not on the same scale as last week (yet) I really hope there isn't further damage to the infrastructure that could prevent opening this weekend.

As far as im aware the chair is last on the list to fix, some of the chairs were broken and had to order new ones, so they have tried to get as much of the mountain open as possible, if the summit lift is open, what do the warrens look like?

Could they not run it with a few less chairs, or would that unbalance the whole system?
