I'd love to work in an industry that runs on Xmas Day.
As it is I'll be sat all alone twiddling my thumbs all day, possibly drunk before midday.

these things change all the time, in scotland christmas wasnt a holiday and only new years day was one, we adopted the english stance on this over time...
but its surely just a supply and demand issue
I prefer the resorts to spend money on the resort rather than openning on a day or days where they will only lose money
if they can open and make a profit
if demand is there
if staff will work, recruitment would be very hard if you make xmas day a must or even a possibility
(I work in the NHS and will be working on xmas day for only weekend monies and all the other public service bashing...but I chose this job and love the job, so I cope with this...is it really the same for a lifty to stand in the cold handing out pomas to a few customers????)
socially, arent there enough demands on family time, that we gie up one or two days a year....this ones a bit more individual I realise
Be nice to skiers...they have enough problems already
