it's nobody elses business how she rides the t-bars, dont let the "double up" nazis win

If you don't want the "double up" nazis to control you either ride pomas or f**k off. A T-Bar is a lift designed for two people and you pay for your lift pass the same as the guy who scratched your precious board so why was he not allowed to ride with you?
Is he not as important as you?

Glencoe's best runs are all accessed by a single t-bar most of the time so if every person that felt "special" went on their own the capacity is halved and people won't get as many laps in and quite frankly i would rather do more laps on my precious skis with a few scratches on them than half the laps and have pristine skis
Part of the reason Scottish skiing is good is meeting people almost all who would feel the same way but maybe i'm not special enough to understand

They told me glencoe was a friendly place to go! Luckily grumpy is an exception and a wind up merchant! Maybe grumpy should get "daddy" to buy him a cheaper board to use in scotland lol. In fact im sure there isnt a.board out there that costs as much!

For the person.who suggested scratching the old guys car thats just.plain stupidity and vindicutive.amd theres.no place for that anywhere.

Doubling up is not optional. If you dont like it dont ski in Scotland. Disappointing to hear your lift pass wasn't removed for purposely shoving someone off a lift in a fit of pique because you had an argument with the the lift operator. Indeed you could have found yourself facing an assault charge from that little stunt.

Hey Grumpy

For someone who seems obsessed by their image and telling everyone how much their board is worth, I'm really surprised you went for a mid range board like the Vapour?

Couldn't you afford the Method or Mystery????!!!!

Not surprised you ride Burton though!

so in relation to my serious question on this topic....should I not take my 4 foot 6 inch tall daughter to Glencoe as she is physically unable to share a t-bar with anyone other than children of the same age.??????

ps all adults should share t-bars at all times of busy queues

Be nice to skiers...they have enough problems already

Pretty similar thoughts here.

Could have bought an exhire fridge board and used the change to stock up on dummies cause it looks like you've spat your first of the season and its not even Christmas yet.

your 4 foot 6 daughter will be fine on a T bar with any one! as a ski instructor it is common practice to double up children with adults as they are abel to offer support and a great deal of balance. Fair play in can be a littel sore on the back of your legs if you do it for the whole day, but a few times a day is no problum

as for the double up debate thease guys should take up a new sport like ping pong... OR strap on an man up Scotland is here to be shreded, not to worry about an over priced board!!

Having a £800 snowboard isn't going to make better. You probably still suck?

Everybody is replying as if this is actually what happened. Hook line and sinker.....fair play to the op, solely for generating a thread of this length so quickly.

And down to facts. Anybody at Glencoe today? (presume it was busy) Anybody see a ruckus in the main basin t bar queue where two bars were missed when a snowboarder was having a (heated?) discussion with lifty and someone who had darted forward for a single? Its not that big a place and there aren't that many people on the hill, so someone on here would surely have seen or have heard something? The owner of Glencoe posts here, so I presume he'll come on and confirm that his lifty on duty in the main basin was talking about such an event? Anybody see or hear a veteran skier upset at being thrown off a t bar by some d1ckhead who initially refused to share?

I'm sure the whole thing is a fantasy of the op to get some replies on an internet message board. In summary:

The op may or may not have been at Glencoe today
The op's board may have been scratched when doubling up on a t-bar
If he was even there and this happened he probably tutted to himself and said nothing
It may or may not be that the op had purchased a new board. If he has it sure ain't an £800 number.

GRUMPY: Scan and post your ticket from today and some of your pictures. Take and post a pic of the scratch to your new board. Tell us what time this all occurred.

Then I'll take you seriously.

And sure by replying I've fallen for the trolling too, but at least I'm calling out the internet fantasist, who clearly still lives with his maw....

my issue is I snowboard and I have been up the cairnwell t-bar with her, and its like getting your knee amputated with not anaesthetic....apart from instructors its not straight forward asking another adult to help at her age....

...our circumstances may mean we cant ride at glencoe together, which is a real shame and does seem a bit over strict under these innocent circumstances

not the same as adults refusing to shsare...IMHO
