Board base repair help!
Date Posted: 21.14hrs on Mon 19 Dec 11
hi,

i am wondering if anyone can give me any pointers in board repair. struggling a bit to find an answer on the net.

i recently snapped a baseplate on my bindings so used a old baseplate until a replacement arrived. two off the screw holes on the board have now bulged slightly through on the base. most likely to my own fault of wrong baseplates and screws and debris in the screw holes.

anyone know how to remove these bulges easy??

the board is a 150 lobster jib incase u need to know and union contact bindings.

take the extra long screws out and leave it for a bit in a warm room they will probably receed back into the base, if they are big ones then you need to shave the bulge off and if it makes a hole just fill it with ptex.

I would take the screw out and tap the bulge back into the base with a hammer until you get it flat. I wouldn't scrap off the excess as you'll thin the base there. I've seen it happen a few times when the wrong screws have been used to mount ski bindings.

cheers.

i have set of G-clamps with a bit of wood clamped over the buldges right now and it is up against the radiator. will remove a few threads from the screws themselves. hopefully this works. 5 days use out of a new board and its trashed already! hidden rocks are a nightmare in early season
