THe entry for this event is filling up very fast with interest now coming in from across the water. If you want to take part get your entry in soon or it may be too late as numbers are strictly limited. For more information check out the CoeCup facebook page - [www.facebook.com]

Just entered the comp. Hope to get some trial runs in over the next few weeks...perhaps this weekend if the weather plays ball!

I've heard that there is the opportunity to help out at the event-marshalling etc

Anyone know who to contact to do this?

If you would like a 60% grant for banners, graphics, leaflets etc up to £2000 then please contact me on 01463-234138. Ask for Donald Morris. The materials would have to be bilingual in Gaelic and English but reducing your costs by 60% is never a bad thing!

I made it up to Glencoe on Saturday. Not been for 5 years or so. I forgot how much fun it is. The terrain is fantastic with the right snow. There was a very good base from thaw early last week. And a nice 6 or so inches fresher stuff on top. Managed a fair number of runs down the proposed face for the comp. It was a lot of fun. There were steep bits, wide open bits, cliff drops, little crags and plenty snow. I hope the conditions are favourable for the comp. A repeat of Saturday would be spot on.

Ardgour? :-)

Hope there are good conditions, I know of at least one person travelling back from the Alps for this...

DonaldM What is the Gaelic for 'Freeride Comp' (not to mention 'rocker', 'tomahawk' and 'mind out for the burn'...)? :-)

If the Ardgour posse gets over it's a foregone conclusion!

Freeride Competition = Farpais Saor-tìre

Rocker = Rocair

Tomahawk = Tuagh

Having looked at the type of movement it describes clearly it's misnamed as it refers to the movement itself and not the object. However I'll let you off with that. As I am sure you know, the name came into the English language in the 17th century as a transliteration of the Powhatan (Virginian Algonquian) word.

"Mind the burn" = Aire! Uisge!
