The Coe Cup has the green light for next weekend. Considering the lack of snow on the rest of the mountain the competion face has retained a great cover. See "public reports" for some pictures of the face from today.

Maybe it's a good time to accept defeat on this one.

YJ, The webcameras don't even show the face so not sure what the purpose of the images above are. We're hoping to have a fun weekend with some great steep skiing and a good craic. Maybe you should join us!!

Ellis Brigham are going to be onsite all weekend with their sales tent so if you are looking for a bargain please pop in and say hello to them.

The base station cafe will be open until 10.30pm on the Saturday night and we expect a real party atmosphere. With music, footage from Gopro (They're bringing there van with the large screen) and a chance to talk to the legendary Jeremy Nobis. Everyone is welcome on the saturday night. You are also more than welcome to stay over on the Saturday night just bring your tent, caravan or campervan and find a space in the carpark.

Lift passes for spectators are £10 for adults and £5 for children. From the top of the access chair It’s about a 20min walk to the bottom of the competition face.

The cafe on the hill will not be open during the event but we will be supplying packed lunches from the base station cafe for £5.

The events schedule is as follows:-

Saturday

8.30am – 9.00am Registration*
9.00am - 9.30am Riders briefing
9.30am – 12.30pm Practice run
12.30pm – 1.30pm Male ski competition run
1.30pm – 2.30pm Male snowboard competition run
2.30pm – 3.00pm Female competition run

8.30am - 10.30pm Party time in the fully licensed base station cafe.

Sunday

9.00am – 9.30am Riders Briefing
11.00am - 12noon Male ski competition run
12 noon - 1.00pm Male snowboard competition
1.00pm – 1.30pm Female Competition run
3.00pm Prize giving in the base station cafe area

*We still have a couple of spaces left in all categories and entries will be accepted on the day.

If anyone would like to help marshalling for the event please be at the base station cafe for 8.30am on either morning and ask for Andy Meldrum. We need marshalls to direct specators and competitors around the mountain on both mornings but you would be free in the afternoon to watch the competition.

We look forward to seeing you on the hill over the weekend.

Andy

Great stuff guys, this sounds awesome and what a great weekend of weather you've chosen!

But lets hope Jeremy isnt driving after the party. :-)

Is there any pics of the route or face that the comp will be on?

Was up there today helping to shovel snow about. Whilst not ideal amounts of snow the gullies are really, really deeply filled still with plenty of line options and a few good looking drops.

I don't understand why the website of this competition (and congratulations to everyone who's brought it off) ...

... has the same very old and negative information day after day, even after the event itself has completed its first day. The homepage is dominated by the following message - in red ...

"Due to poor snow conditions and for the safety of competitors the date for the Coe Cup has been re-scheduled to 24th and 25th March"

Yes, we're aware of that - the postponement was announced weeks ago.

No indication of the structure of the event and running order ... and no sign that the site is carrying the results!

What gives?
