Scottish Backcountry Festival 2012

The Scottish Backcountry Festival is back for Saturday 24th March 2012, Cairngorm Mountain & Old Bridge Inn, Aviemore
Details of tickets have just gone up on the website, along with details on how to claim you FREE Backcountry Skills Clinic!

This year's festival will include the amateur film festival competition alongside a show case from The Telluride Mountain Film festival 'On Tour'.
Live Music will be courtesy of Adam Holmes & The Embers and Scotlands Young Folk Band of The Year - RURA (tbc)
Last year's Film festival and after party was so busy that folks were crowding into the conservatory (inside and out!) to see the films. This year the numbers will be limited through ticket sales and there will be two screenings of the Telluride Mountain films to ensure everyone gets to see them.
There'll be plenty of prizes for film entries on the night and give aways for the crowd.

There was a wee peice in Fall Line this month about the backcountry festival, alongside the article on the Scottish Backcountry Ski tests.
There are still spaces on the Backcountry skills clinics which currently look to be run as snow-less skills sessions covering transceiver skills, navigtation and rope skills.
