Who's got snow thread?
Date Posted: 07.07hrs on Tue 3 Apr 12
A couple of inches or so in the centre of Inverness this morning, most on cars. Reports of 10inches + along the Moray Coast a bit inland and radar returns suggest some places may have seen a foot with snow falling for over 12 hours in places.
Heavier precipitation associated with the waving front is now pushing further South, but some beefy snow showers are coming through in Inverness now.

Radio 4 this morning reported 9 inches in Aviemore which sounds good to me.
Just how feasible is a fast turnaround and an opening of some runs?
Obviously there's money to be made if a ski centre can open in the school holidays and over Easter , but it will be a pretty big ask, won't it?
How much more snow do we need? I've got next week booked off from work, so here's hoping

Eastern edge of Inverness, between 3-6 inches depending on where you measure as it was pretty windy last night. Probably 4 inches would be a good average.

Not a lot in aberdeen, but about 4inches out at Udny. I'm hoping for a local ski at home this evening if the snow doesn't melt during the day, probably on the old Banf and Buchan rail line.

Peaked at 4-5" around Glamis this morning and no local roads swept. Glad I'd kept the winter boots on the Passat, there were lots of nervous folk tip-toeing around in their cars.
Thawing now in Dundee.
