**UPDATE**
2013 Calendar Comp nominations must be in no later than 5pm on Frida 26th October. We're esp keen on 2012 photos, but now accepting photos from autumn 2009 onwards.
We need to move quickly as there is a need to get the calendars printed asap this year to get a better print price to offset the massive rise in postage if the Calendar is going to be viable to do at all this year.
OK that's the sob story part over. What are we looking for in terms of photos, well for now photos from autumn 2009 onwards, they can be snowsports action shots, mountain landscapes, winter climbing shots, basically the only criteria is some relevance to Scottish Snow and taken no earlier than autumn 2009.
THE RULES: (Keeping it as simple as possible)
1. Nominations are now open, closing 5pm Friday 26th October 2012. Only nominations added as attachments to this thread or emailed to
pix2012@winterhighland.info will be accepted.
2. For print resolution requirements an absolute minimum full size image resolution is 1650x1275 pixels. Ideally resolution should be > 2000pixels horizontal.
3. Due to the calendar format photos will be displayed as landscape. Portrait images submitted will only be accepted for entry to the competition if it is possible to crop them to better fit the landscape format and still retain sufficient resolution and image interest.
4. Voting format and number of nominated photos going into the Calendar will depend on volume of nominations.
5. Photos will be cropped as required to fit the Calendar format - for most standard landscape images this will be minimal.
6. Competition is open to professional and amateur photographers.
7. Photographers with winning photos in the vote included in the calendar will be eligible for either a standard Wall Calendar or 2 desktop calendars.
8. As far as possible please provide details of location, date taken and photographer. You must have taken the photo or have permission to nominate it.
9. You may nominate up to 3 of your own photos. Nominations by third parties will not be counted towards this limit, but a maximum of 4 photos by any photographer will go forward to the Public Vote.
Notes on submitting photos:
If emailing please send a confirmation email without an attachment, this allows WH to track down any emails that may have failed to get through with large attachments.
You will need to downsize photos to around 200-250kb to attach directly to the forum thread, if you don't have the means to do this, please email your photos.
Let's see these snowy photos!
