Given a very poor for Saturday and a much more encouraging one for Sunday and the lure of lift assistance the plan is to hit Glencoe on Sunday 24th June for some turns to mark the passing of the Summer Solstice and the start of the countdown to winter!

Meet at the Base Cafe for 10am, a bit earlier if you fancy a bacon roll and a coffee. The Access Chair is open all day, but if you are there for 10am and head up together the Cliffhanger Chair will run for a short spell in the morning to reduce the climb to the snow. I believe normal chairlift ticket prices apply, £10 for adults.

Those wanting a post mid summer slide in the East, we'll try again on Sunday 1st July at CairnGorm.

Midsummer skiers. The plan is to leave the base station cafe at 10am and head up the hill as a group. The cliffhanger chair will then run weather permitting just long enough to get the group up the hill (If you're late you'll need to walk from the top of the access chair). From the top of the cliffy there is snow within about a 15 minute walk either in the main basin or the Spring run. The longest patch on the hill is on the flypaper but this is unlikely to be skiable because of a serious lack of runout. Our normal plan of action is to hike to the main basin have a slide there and then skirt around the hill to the Spring run to ski these patches on the way back down the hill. See you Sunday. Andy

Excellent. Not so sure that Sunday will be better than Saturday but I hope to be there if it's not going to be a total claggy washout. If I am, I can pick a couple of folk up on my way.

I'll be at a loose end in Aviemore for a few days the week after next. Are there any decent patches still or is it proper die hard stuff? Going to the hintertux glacier in austria in a few weeks so not desperate enough to climb a mountain only to ski on 2m of snow winking smiley
