Alan, straight question - does Colin's quote change your view on CML Core Lift Policy?
Is that not a slightly loaded question to base on what could have been a flippant one liner?
Surely the bottom line on this one, is that new lifts are not just going to appear next season with less than a years notice, however good this season is. First there is the issue of booking a slot with a lift manufacturer, such short notice would surely incur a huge premium. Then there would be planning issues, statutory consultations would be required, EIA produced, regulatory issues over the lift, let alone finance arrangements.
The West Wall Chairlift seems to remain the only short term game in town for increasing mid mountain uplift capacity and it can help the situation in Coire Cas, by spreading the load around the mountain and in good conditions a reduction in pressure on the WW Poma, means the DLP / WWP combo can be used to ski the Cas with little queuing.
