shit happens, its a bummer, used to travel a lot with work and it was a standing family joke all that went wrong, then a little thing goes right like last night- had a few pints, fell asleep on the last train out of town and got woken up by the driver at end of the line - disaster. Driver then says I am going back into town (out of service) I will drop you off at your stop - result.

I will remember that a lot longer than any of the troubles I have had.

Update on daughter's return journey on Saturday. Plane over 2 hours late in taking off. 148 pieces of baggage left in Chambery including her and her partner's boards.

Delivered yesterday evening, Monday,to his home in Livingston. Comment from them ..."We will never ever use Chambery again. Tignes was amazing though ! "

luckily (touch wood) i've never had any serious nightmares (1x ad-hoc, 2x crystal 1x monarch). minor issue with crystal when our rep in meribel forgot to book us onto a bobsliegh excursion, but in fairness, that's possibly because he was out on the lash with us until silly o'clock the night before

That's not good. Can I ask that they write to crystal customer services and complain? If no one complains then Crystal will just think that this is 'acceptable'. I have the customer serv email at home, I will add to this post later on.

Baggage handlers at Edinburgh Airport must be going spare. I just called them and asked if this was a regular occurrence with Jet2. Response: 'Sorry, Sir, I cannot comment'. which I guess they can't...!

Google 'crystal jet2' If I've put just one person off using Jet2/Crystal then that's my compensation!

I can confirm that it is a regular occurrence, i had spoken to more than one member of staff and they told me that this happens all the time.
I was on the same flight as Hilly's daughter and got my ski bag last night too, although, by the looks of things, i think they dragged it behing the delivery van for the last 30 miles, what a mess.
All the contents look to be fine though, just as well i had all my clothes as a buffer.

Mine were drenched! Looks like they were stored outside for the 6 days it took them to get them to me!

I don't think u should avoid CrystalSki because we got a good deal last year when we went 2 Morzine, we stayed at Le Viking Hotel

Any deal for the more northern resorts that route through Geneva instead of Chambery will be fine.

Aye, Chambery is a disaster, GVA for me next time. I have been keeping track on the lost luggage situation with Jet2, and for the folks that went the week 28/01-04/02, 6 ski/board bags never made it out there, and no ski/board bags made it back. Also 6 regular suitcases never made it back.

That's now three weeks on the trot that bags have failed to make it either out,back or both.

Came back at the weekend with Jet2 (through Ski Total) from Geneva, service was just fine really, left and landed on time,nothing to complain about really. I always think geneva is a mess of an airport but we managed to leave our duty free in the overhead bins on the way out but we got it on way back (all of it!) courtesy of jet2 and swissport! Wahey.

Aye, I was rather irate when I made the original post!!

Crystal/Jet2 never even bothered to acknowledge my letters, so I doubt anything at CMF will ever improve.

It will be GVA for me next time.

same happened to us with jet2 last week,. left my skis on way out to chamebery and on the way back, im just going to send a request for my ski hire for the day and my carriage that i paid as it was late, if they dont pay i will send a small claims they wont bother to turn up for that.
