Interesting find, looks like gravity grips, ie they have no physical clamping on/off the cable, just sit on it relying on the weight of the carrier to keep it there.

Time for an update about London's non-ski-racked gondola - wow, it's been a year and a half ...

Thames cable car fares income 35 per cent lower than predicted
[www.standard.co.uk]

... since the London Olympics (and beginning of this thread).

Maybe gondolas are more popular when they go up mountains.

With the height of those towers some pretty interesting terrain could be crossed. Never mind bringing back the Kessock ferry for a park and ride into Inverness, that thing would be pretty epic across between North Kessock and River Ness !! tongue sticking out smiley

Update on the above.
Alcohol will be served on the bubble ... which is interesting, because it's strictly banned on any other element of London's transport network!

Shocking state of affairs but I aint shocked... The drug dealing scum that peddle that toxic shite have their wee pooh stained fingers in every crevice of government...

I would have thought their sponsors would have said something " Stop selling shite drugs on our gondola or we'll send ower isis along wi aw the weapons you fuds gave them " or something like that...
