Much colder conditions over the past few days, with temperatures down to -9°c, and snow showers have seen the 'Gorm take on a more wintry coat again. However the bulk of the snow came in on North winds which is not the best direction for CairnGorm Mountain, indeed the slightly further East caught more of the snow showers on Friday.
The result is that though the runs have started to slowly fill up top, and there are some impressive drifts on parts of the mountain, there is not yet enough snow to get the lifts up and running again for snowsports.
There is still some scope for limited high level touring, and it is possible to get up at least part of the way from Coire Cas to the Summit on skis with care.
