:: Weather Conditions
Cold bright and sunny, cloud coming in through morning. Cloud base to top of F1 after lunch. The odd light snow shower.
:: Snow Conditions & Info
Probably borderline 2 - 3. Good snow but thinly spread.

F1 runs pisted out to give reasonable but tufty in places skiing. Better first thing when it was still cold.

F2 running, better skiing off F1. M2 snow farmed but a bit too patchy down the bulldozed line for my liking.

Tow road was sporting with winter tyres - a day for 4wd or chains.

cold start minus 3.5. blue skies then overcast with light snow flurries. Freezing level about 500m Light westerly wind freshening during the day.
:: Snow Conditions & Info
Good to get the skis on. Thin snowy grass. typical marginal pennine skiing conditions. However frozen ground and surprisingly skiable conditions where pisted. Skied better than it looks. Worth the trip. good early season shakedown of the tow, pistebasher and various systems. We are ready now !

First day of the 14/15 season with mechanical uplift and a excellent day to start with. Below freezing from top to bottom giving fresh powder snow at all levels. Overcast most of the time but the sun did break through mid afternoon before closing in with the wind picking up. This made the traverse a bit of a challenge but not too uncomfortable.
:: Snow Conditions & Info
Snow was dry compressed powder. The official runs open were the traverse, 105, zigzag home run, burnside, Cottam's Way but the cas was very skiable and was pisted by the afternoon. The cas was wide and good but the gun barrel was thin and narrow.
Excelent top to bottom skiing using the train. The train was running non stop, as soon as loaded it was off, no hanging arround.

Freezing level below centre height. Overcast with poor light mitigated by goggles. Light wind without rain or snow.
:: Snow Conditions & Info
Skiing from 1030-1230 only Claybokie and Butcharts Access were running. Butcharts access run was complete at top and complete on right side to the bottom - no heather hopping required. The snow quality was exceptional, well pisted fluffy powder akin to best west Canada snow. More snow is needed to complete other areas but work ongoing by GS staff who are doing a superb job with what they have. See photo's for best impression, apologies for B&W, did not see camera setting!
