Bluebird day, sunglasses, suncream, the kind of day you dream about. First day I have got to wear sun glasses rather than goggles in Scotland for years.
:: Snow Conditions & Info
Solid hard packed snow, tough on the legs! M1 best. M2 pretty scraped, solid down Over Yonder. Top of the mountain very nice, esp with Sun. Skied with the Hilton Ski Ambassadors Neil and Scott (thanks guys!) down both Laogh return (never been there before) and the East Lady (been once around 10 years ago). Great day although hard work on the firmer slopes. Possibly the best weather I've ever skied in, in Scotland! The whole resort looked fantastic.

Started bright and turned into a bluebird day. Car thermometer read 1 degree in car park at 8.30am, 6 degrees at about 3pm.
:: Snow Conditions & Info
Started on blue off Butcharts & Carn Aosda with grippy hardpack that softened and was giving fantastic skiing by about 10.30. Runs off Cairnwell T bar were softening up about half way down.

After an early lunch headed over towards Glas Maol; on the way pistes were still solid and definitely less grippy (a bit polished in places). Traversing out wide on Glas Maol the sun had been at work and made for great conditions. Out wide snow was getting almost slushy mid afternoon, but dropping down earlier gave great snow all afternoon.

More and more heather starting to show through off main pistes, but still great depth on piste.

Bright sun, very little wind, below freezing.
:: Snow Conditions & Info
Despite the sun beating down the snow did not soften off piste. On piste the base was grippy with soft snow.
The best run I found was the M1, absolutely lovely, but there is that much to ski on the mountain that I didn't get round everywhere in the afternoon so other areas could have been as good.

The Lady and M1 side track had less soft snow but were still fun and small bumps are appearing on the lady. The top basin was great and the Ciste gully good till the lower part where it was pretty solid.

I went over to Laogh Beag. It was an icy traverse and I went round the Strathnethy side of the tor at the top of Laogh Mor where I discovered gigantic frozen sastrugi. The snow only softened slightly at about 660m on Laogh Beag and than gave good skiing.

A great afternoon in stunning weather but on piste was definitely better than off.
