Sunny and warm. First day of the season without a poloneck and ski trousers !
:: Snow Conditions & Info
I started on the patch on the Coire Cas headwall. It is still slightly convex so it should last a while yet. Nice soft crunchy spring, or should that be summer snow. Managed 9 turns
Contoured round to the Ptarmigan bowl and went over into Ciste Mhearad. There are three patches. I skied the upper two. The upper patch drops away fairly quickly down to the burn so I only managed 4 turns and a traverse. The middle patch which didn't exist when I was there on 17th Aug 2007- the previous latest time I've taken my skis up in August allowed for 7 turns.
Just for a laugh I had a slide down the small remaining patch in the Ptarmigan Bowl on the way back.
