• View Photos •:: Tour Route(s) or Location Skied/Ridden Very short there and back tour, just over 2hrs. Starting from layby near stile (just along from distillery) to access footpath up to Dumgoyne. Over farmers fields following earlier skier tracks (thank you) and up the left hand side of the climb (less incline) and around the back of the Dumgoyne plug on approach to Garloch Hill.
:: Weather ConditionsOvercast, dry and moderate easterly. Freezing level estimate around 200m.
:: Snow Conditions and DistrubtionGood coverage on Western slopes. Pretty much all windblown, firm in places, some softer parts found though. Wet and heavy near road and across fields.

Glenshee area
:: Weather ConditionsCarn a Gheoidh to Baddoch Burn and to An Socach via the burn in the centre of the ridge, back same way to Baddoch Burn, the Loch Vrotachan & ski area. Perfect, wind was a pain at first and then a relief. Almost too hot,
:: Snow Conditions and DistrubtionSki touring doesn't get much better than this. Full cover in all areas except for summit ridge of An Socach which was bare rock, but ample snow in banks on either side of the ridge. Extensive areas of fresh windslab and softened nevee,

• View Photos •:: Tour Route(s) or Location Skied/Ridden Dundreich from Portmore reservoir. Skis on at car and skinned along track to reservoir and up eastern side to summit. Decent into gully above reservoir followed by short skin up and decent through fields past confused sheep.
:: Weather ConditionsBluebird.
:: Snow Conditions and DistrubtionStill frozen at roadside. Upper slops dry wind packed powder. Summit area scoured with icy crust.

:: Weather ConditionsMostly sunny, light breeze, freezing level c.400m. Amazing views spoiled by wind turbines, of course.
:: Snow Conditions and DistrubtionEnough cover to ski from (and back to!) the Sheriffmuir road with a bit of tussock dodging lower down. Some nice expanses of good snow on W to SW facing slopes.

:: Weather ConditionsSuperb tour in Ladder Hills to west of Clashindarroch Ski Trails. Superb views of Lochnagar, Ben Avon & Cairngorm plateau. Sunny, no wind - T-shirt weather
:: Snow Conditions and DistrubtionFirm snow with 4cm of powder on top. Softening by afternoon.
