Looking over the edge down to the loch.

View to right of entry point,coire an lochan

Coming down the shoulder right looking up coire an lochan

looking down the coire an lochan patch, we did not ski along this but headed down to the right, longer ski into the corie floor.

Looking up the shoulder of coire an lochan

You can see the entrance top right of coire an lochan. It was unstable to the left and lots of creavases.

coire an lochan view, the great slab is impressive, we kept well away!

Coming down from the summit of Macdui

The Macdui summit patch

A difficult ski down from the summit. The snow was wind blown and slabby, difficult to turn in.

The summit does not have snow other than small patches.

Cycle tracks. We met a cyclist on route to the summit of Macdui. On the way back he wished he had left his bike at home! Much more hard work in the snow than he expected.

Where Wally? Spot Les skiing the massive snow field. This is the second patch returning from the summit. Nicer than the first, easier to turn.

:: Weather Conditions
Freezing level well above sumit. Patchy cloud with warm sunshine. Chilly breeze when sun went behind a cloud.
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Snow on south facing slopes was thin to nonexistent making progress slow with skis on pack. North facing slopes had fresh on firm spring snow. the fresh could be sticky in places and even wind blown and slaby of the summit of macdui. Snow in Coire an Lochain was by far the best, fast spring snow, easy to ski. Tip is going to Macdui, leave the skis behind and enjoy the walk or stop at Coire an Lochain and enjoy the skiing.
