Report
:: Tour Route(s) or Location Skied/Ridden
Skied from roadside about 2 miles north of Glen Shee car park, up Carn Aosda, down to Baddoch Burn, then up and down An Socach. Returned to ski car park by Loch Vrotachan.
:: Weather Conditions
Cold, freezing at all levels, occasional snow and hail squalls.
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Variable snow cover from about 550m. Ridges scoured, but good cover in burns and gullies. The summit of An Socach was blown out, but the gully (photo) gave a good descent followed by pleasant skiing down to the Baddoch Burn. Snow generally quite firm and well settled. Other hills to south and west also have reasonable cover, but glen bottoms below 500m are snow free.
