snowy, with less snowy spells. freezing level just above blair, road totally white on the way back down (4pm)

ok so it was a field at the spittal, but deep and soft powdery snow everywhere! until we, and a load of other assorted boarders, skiers, and sledgers tracked it right out waiting for the police to open the road, which they didn't, even though it looked clear most of the afternoon : ( did look a wee bit wind scoured higher up, so fingers x'd the shee got properly pasted

Strong south easterly (downslope) winds and cold, and below freezing all day. Freezing level just below 600m.

Reasonable visibility in the morning poor later on as the mild air began to mix.

Sleet by the end of the day, but ground and surfaces still frozen.

Snow cover was a bit thin and was substantially topped up by new snow falling from the south this morning.

The runs though thin were very fast and pleasantly quiet to ski on. As ever at Yad Moss, no rocks but the surface undulations make for some tricky, technical conditions !

Perhaps 50 skiers and boarders and a couple of telemarkers.

High Cloud Bit windy from Time to time but generally fairly nice conditions with good visibility

Low runs good cover over bits of heather and long grass. Fairly Fast riding in places. Top Lift run was a bit of a challenge!

periods of heavy snow, from pic you will see I got as far as the Spitall snow gate, left at 12.30 as although snowplough likely to clear snow, white-out conditions at the resort made it unlikely they would open the road for safety reasons (hope they didnt change their minds after I left)
