The wind built through the morning and into the afternoon, but I judged it to be less than forecast, with only occasional gusting.

Overhead conditions were better in the morning, with pattern of cloud, then clearing, then more cloud through the afternoon.

A big thank-you to the team at GMR. The skiing conditions were significantly improved by the professional pisting. In particular, all the lower/middle runs had excellent wind blown soft snow, full width between the fence and beyond. The upper runs, all received even more wind blown snow, particularly in the natural snow fields formed by the Main Basin and Spring Run. The Spring Run had been pisted full width first thing in the morning, offering smooth steep skiing, with large accumulations of fresh wind blown snow lower down.

There is still plenty of fresh wind blown snow to enjoy below the Access Chairlift. Best option is to start toward the skiers LHS on the Black, then cut below the chairlift on the Red, before following the Red fence line through the natural heather gullies to the car park. Great run to complete at any time of the day!

The car park was full, but with all the lifts running, there were no queues.
