Busy Ptarmigan bowl

Upper Cas

Lower Cas, lovely spring snow

Lower gunbarrel. but even higher up where the surface was complete you could hear the stream underneath

Rather obvious ptarmigan in Marquis Wells

Looking down Marquis Wells. The path was bare for most of the way

Patches on the plateau

Looking up to the tor from the run east of it. Bit of grass skiing required in the middle

Steeper run ENE of the tor. This was the better route

:: Snow Conditions & Info
Ptarmigan Bowl and Fairway were on offer and they had well pisted lovely spring snow.
I had a walk up Marquis Wells as there was very little snow to skin on. Below the tor there are still good patches of snow. The run to the ENE has good depth, but skinning back up was difficult due to the very strong cross wind.
I avoided the funicular down as I wanted to see what the cover was like.Again lovely spring snow. Traverse was skiable, break in the upper 105 , Cas was complete to the gunbarrel. Upper gunbarrel still has a complete surface but you can hear the stream underneath which becomes visible lower down !

We need snow !!
