Home Road was a good way down, not its usual stony surface but good compressed powder

Looking down the side of the top station over the drifts.

Looking over from jeans bowl to the mid station. Jeans bowl was unpisted and a bit heavy going, not recommended for intermediates.

The upper cas boulder field, great depth and easy wide run for skiing of all abilities.

The traverse is still a bit narrow but very skiable, If you are a bit nervous skiing a narrow run, stick to one side and control your speed till you build confidence. There were a number of people going to fast then doing a sharp left of right turn to slo

Looking down the cas, a great run down.

The lower slopes, plenty of ways down to choose but occasional thin areas to be aware of. My favourite was the home run.

Looking up the lady. You could pick a line to get down but I think it is best to leave till it fills in a bit more, the is great skiing on other parts of the mountain.

In to Jean's Bowl. Wide but quite heavy and hard going, fun but be carful.

This is the fence at the side of the cas at the boulder field. May be we need an elephant fence here in the future!! The snow here was great

Looking over the the ciste bowl. The machines were in here moving the snow around, don't think it will be long till this opens.

Gun barrel is a bit thin and quite steep, easier to use the zigzags. The bars were getting put on this afternoon. Tow track is good and ready to go.

105, good cover fast and soft snow

ZigZags, good condition but a bit gritty on the bottom one, keep you speed down and eyes open.

Fiacail Ridge, good cover but a bit heavy lower down. Tiring on the legs and quite a technical ski down.

:: Weather Conditions
First day of the 14/15 season with mechanical uplift and a excellent day to start with. Below freezing from top to bottom giving fresh powder snow at all levels. Overcast most of the time but the sun did break through mid afternoon before closing in with the wind picking up. This made the traverse a bit of a challenge but not too uncomfortable.
:: Snow Conditions & Info
Snow was dry compressed powder. The official runs open were the traverse, 105, zigzag home run, burnside, Cottam's Way but the cas was very skiable and was pisted by the afternoon. The cas was wide and good but the gun barrel was thin and narrow.
Excelent top to bottom skiing using the train. The train was running non stop, as soon as loaded it was off, no hanging arround.
:: Riders
Graeme and the usual folks.
