Feith Buidhe above Loch Avon. We skinned up Fiacaill Choire Cas, round to the top of Coire Domhain as if going to Macdui before crossing the Feithe Buidhe about 1170m. We took the easiest line avoiding the objective hazards immediately to the North and South, see GPS track. From 925m we skinned up south of the steep slopes regaining the Feith Buidhe higher up. We also had a good short run back into Coire Domhain on softening previously windblown snow.

Minus three in the car park which was ideal so prevent the snow softening too much. Sunny all day with no wind feeling very hot most of the day.

There has been a huge snow loss since Saturday. Harscheisen used on the Fiacaill ridge and softening thereafter. The downhill slopes were in use from the bottom of the Cas with downhillers being ferried up in a lift company buggy.

Up to 1141m on Fiacaill Choire Chas and round to Lurchers

A late start avoided the harsh morning weather although winds still 35mph on occasions. Sunny

Many leeward slopes blown clear of fresh snow and lots of sastrugi. I am told that fresh snow is blown away in a 10mph wind and bonded snow requires a 55mph wind. The snow in Lurchers was very difficult to turn on. I started my descending traverse to the car park at 900m.

Cairngorm, South to top of Coire Raibeirt, then back up Cairngorm and down Ciste Mhearad.

Minus 2 at 900m according to Mwis. Wind below 15mph. cCouding up a bit in afternoon.

Skis on at bottom of Shieling Poma. Good snow above 900m.

Creag Leacach, Glenshee
This was an excellent short (less than 4 hours) tour. We were away from the road by 10 however it became clear that someone had already been round this tour before we started! The descent is a lovely slope (around 24 degrees) and we could imagine coming back often if we were local. Definitely worth a return trip.

Vis deteriorated as per forecast.

Dry, sunny, about minus 5, mostly little wind

An amazing change form few days prior, even the day before. Enough for a viable skin up and also for ski down. Optional carrying in short stony areas. Some rubble on zig zags corners.
