Fantastic blue skies and sunshine, what more could one want?! As always though it was pretty windy at the summits
:: Snow Conditions & Info
Overall the snow cover was pretty good and the snow itself was pretty good in most areas. However, skiing at the summits was hell as there was a lot of pure boiler plate ice, nae snow! Then suddenly your in a two feet powder dump!

If you did a wee bit of searching around the off-piste areas there was some fantastic powder to be had, just need to take your time accessing it!

Meall Odhar had the best skiing in my opinion today, whilst the runs were officially closed, they were in great nick and most people were using them. The main annoyance was the access pomas, the meall odhar pomas were not running which meant a bit of a trek back to caenlochan, but that's not too bad.

Coire fionn was reasonable after it opened in the afternoon, Glas Maol unfortunately didn't feature, but the piste bashers were up sorting it for the weekend.

Over the other side, the race track was pretty good, really fast skiing on pretty good snow. Buchart's was alright, pretty bare in places, i chose to hike up part of the way to Carn Aosda and skiied down from there, was good snow here.

All in all, i had a great day and would certainly recommend the trip, however, in my opinion if your looking at skiing glenshee this weekend and Glas Maol and the other access lifts aren't open i wouldn't consider going. The queues would be unbearable! I'd head to cairngorm especially after the 24'' dump!!

WINDY BUT GOT BETTER AS DAY WENT ON
:: Snow Conditions & Info
conditions at glenshee are a bit Jekyll & Hyde, due to strong winds the snow has been redistributed, leaving some very deep powder pockets on west fences but boiler plate ice in areas where the snow had been removed by the wind

glas maol is half ice and half snow, the gully next to the poma will probably remain roped off due to this ice, the rest looks like being amazing fun.

meal odhar was fun, you need to ride ridge to top of corrie fionn lifts as top of meal odhar to foot of glas maol/corrie fionn lifts is stripped of snow down to the ice

walked from butchards access to top of cairn asoda and paid the price, off piste looks awesome but is about 6 inches of snow hiding rocks which has resulted in a 30min p-tec job on arriving home tonight, on second hike took red run down which was half awesome powder half boiler plate ice, very tricky

snow is brilliant where it still lies, but the ice makes things a bit tricky

NOT THE POWDER PARADISE EVERYONE IS TOUTING, IF IT IS VERY BUSY AT THE WEEKEND THEN PEOPLE WILL NEED TO USE THESE MORE MARGINAL RUNS WHICH WILL LEAD TO PROBLEMS WITH THE ICE & INJURIES
