Blue sky, no wind, a little high cloud later in the day, freezing level probably around 550m - a beautiful day

At the risk of jinxing it this season is just as good as it gets at Raise which today lived up to it's all mountain billing with acres of fresh powdery snow. Lift served off piste powder, in the Lake District, who would have bet on that? Run of the day the newly named Sun Down on the west face, reached by hiking 10 minutes to the summit. Sweet snow, sweet lines, a great day for pioneers.

Bright sun all day not feeling cold with no wind

Pretty much excellent cover everywhere, all pistes wide, well prepared and loads of off piste to be had, possibly close to best ever cover on the front of the hill.
This afternoon we had a tour round past Easy gully (see pics) to the summit cairn and a run on Summit Gully in deep powder and only a couple other tracks.
Very strange on the summit with deep snow, its usually scoured and icy.
Run down through Coire an Lochan and into Coire Dubh followed by a bootpack up under Brokenheart and traverse out.
Followed this one with a last run down Chancer out to the top of the climbers Coll and an untracked run to the top of Brokenheart chair and traverse out for a well earned coffee in the hut about 4.45.
An afternoon that could not be beat !!!!!

Blue sky day, freezing at all levels. Stayed very cold even in bright sunshine.
:: Snow Conditions & Info
Wide cover, with some powder stashes still to be had off the Glas Maol. Other areas fairly hard. A few heathery patches and the occasional rock poking through, but pretty much ski anywhere conditions - sharp edges handy at times esp in Thunderbowl. Would rate surface conditions 3/4 overall.
