Looking up the Grouse from the Carpark.

The view from near the top of the Grouse Poma/Snowy Owl Chair, along the fence to the Falcon.

The new Base Lodge takes shape.

The view the other way, Falcon from the Buzzard. Good width between the fences, still some thin bits though.

The Buzzard Poma and runs from the Falcon. Good sport on well pisted dry snow, despite some thin bits.

Looking across the A939 to the main area from the Buzzard. Snowy Owl chair centre.

Report
Generally a good width between the fences, though still early season conditions owing to lack of base, so some thin sections exist, and some scrapped sections are likely to develop esp. on steeper pitches where cover is thin and traffic heavy.

On the whole though some excellent early season sport on pisted machine packed powdery dry snow, and the sun continues to shine on Tuesday. Wednesday looks like starting much the same in the East, but it wont last, horrendous mountain conditions expected later in the day. Make the most of the good weather, but with blizzards forecast for later on Hogmanay hopefully even better snow for the New Year, fingers crossed.

Thanks to George Paton for the photos, if you have been out on the mountains and have a set of photos your willing to share on these pages please email them to pix@winterhighland.com .
