Excellent sport for all abilities on packed powder snow under prefect blue skies and unbroken sunshine! Very much a sun cream and shades day, a fair number of lobsters on the slopes by close, yes you can get seriously burnt in Highland Scotland in winter!!
All the runs are complete, and the runs themselves were all in excellent condition, just a couple of the high level diagonal links between runs were thin in places owing to wind scouring. Almost unbelievably busy, the carparks were overflowing by 10am, and the overflow carpark on the Strathdon side was filled, and every inch if space around the Piste Basher workshop was used, and there must have been well over a 150 more cars parked a good half mile either side of the cafe.
Despite the huge numbers, though lift queues got fairly lengthy in the afternoon, they were generally tolerable as all uplift was open, and plenty of runs could be had be keeping an eye on the queues and going to different lifts. Overall, an amazing day at the Lecht.
