Upper mountain filling in, good gains in the Boxing Day storms, but not much snow mid-mountain yet.
Boxing Day delivered mostly rain at the Plateau level, however that did mean the wet snow stuck well on the upper mountain despite Storm Force winds!

There's been a couple of cm of new snow this evening with showers continuing to come in, with snow falling down onto Rannoch Moor.
The Boxing Day storm blasted wet heavy snow into the upper mountain snowfields, had it been cold enough for snow on the plateau all day probably next to nothing would have stuck. There isn't enough snow for any of the tows yet or to connect anything together, but there is now the start of a proper base on the Main Basin and Happy Valley and tourers did manage some turns on Sunday afternoon.
With a bit more fresh snow tonight and better overhead expected on Monday might be a bit more touring scope.
The Access Chairlift, Plateau Cafe and sledge park are open daily wind permitting - please check level 4 travel restrictions before buying tickets! Forecast is cold through this week, but detail on snow amounts keeps chopping and changing so keep an eye on the webcams!
