The wind continued to moderate through Sunday and high pressure looks set to dominate much of the coming week, so it should be good for getting up to sledge, sight see or early season touring.
It's possible to skin up from the top of the Access Chair via several routes and return to the Access Chair with skis / board on. Mixture of large drifts, some gullies filling in and wind scoured open slopes after a stormy few days.
Things are starting to fill in and both the Coire Pollach and Plateau Poma uptrack have caught a promising amount of wind packed snow. Given the benign forecast for the coming days, it is tantalising close to being able to ski at least some of the Plateau area. However it does look as if we will have a dry week ahead, so no further snow accumulations until end of the week or weekend expected.
Sledging is available on the Access Return path just above the Coire Pollach Tow. The underlying snow / ground got wet before the big fall, so things being left a day or too to dry out and crisp up before potentially pushing out the piles of machine made snow and big drifts at the sledge park.
Please note that the Plateau Cafe is not yet open for the season, so grab something from the base cafe before going up and do wrap up! Toilets are available at the Eagles Rest adjacent to the Top of the Access Chair (as well as at the base).
