Skier on the West Wall.
Lower West Wall Chair run down to the Lower Aonach from the Chair. Poma Track not complete yet. Aonach Bowl has partial base, some deep drifts, scoured in other bits.
Parts of the West Wall are loaded with snow after the mid-week storms.
East Wall from the West Wall Chair, gullies have filled so there's a base, but Traverse in is scoured and broken in bits.
It's been a while... Tthe West Wall Chair in Action!
Looking down the Ciste Gully.
The view back up the Gully from further down, notice the cross gradient due to the wind strength and direction. Much of the lower West Wall is snowless, Gully is a narrow and confined run.
Looking down the upper section of the Ciste Gully. The Gully is generally pretty narrow, little in the way of escape routes onto the Side Walls, but complete to the foot of the Chair.

Report
These photos show the Ciste Gully and West Wall area of CairnGorm Mountain on Saturday, for photos of the rest of the Mountain, see Friday 2nd Jan 2004. The violent Hogmanay Storm drove snow over the top on Hurricane Force Southerly winds, driving it into deep gullies and burn courses such as Coire Na Ciste, much like the Hogmanay storm in 2000 that set up the 2001 season!
