A glorious Good Friday in the West Highlands, just a shame the only official sliding available is on the sledge park at the Plateau Cafe.
The Access Chairlift is open daily from 9am with last chairlift down at 4.30pm. For sledging it is advisable to be on the Access Chairlift by 3pm, to allow sufficient time on the hill as it is 15 minutes up on the chairlift and a 5-8 minute walk over to the Plateau Cafe where the sledges are available at no extra charge. Sledge Park was groomed on Friday evening.
The Plateau Cafe is serving from 10am to 3pm through Sunday 16th April.
The Main Basin and Spring Run remain largely skiable for those prepared to do some hiking and/or skinning for turns. Snow will start firm the next couple of mornings and loosen to spring snow.
For sightseers the view point at Creag Dhubh is a 15 to 20minute walk from the top of the Access Chairlift, this is quite rough in places so sturdy footwear recommended.
Both the red and black downhill bike tracks are opening for the lift served mountain bike season on Saturday 8th April. Bike hire is available, but advisable to pre book by calling 01855 851226.
