The snow shower clouds parted to give some decent sunny spells in which to enjoy the fresh snow, just a few flurries through the day, with a snowbow spotted.
Despite a problem with the Plateau Poma there was a good turnout to take advantage of the fresh snow and fine weather, ahead of a wild and mild week that's forecast. The walk to the Plateau Cafe is about 10 minutes and you can hope on the Plateau Rope Tow to break that if you must, remember the walk to the cafe is shorter and much less vertical assent than the Plateau Poma has.
Upper Mountain the Main Basin, Spring Run, Flypaper and off-piste lines on the East Ridge have great cover. Happy Valley is complete but was reportedly wind scoured and icy today. Etive Glades is closed - the snow's not come from the right direction this year.
Mid mountain the steeper runs are in great shape, Thrombosis, Canyon, Wall and Wall Crossover all offering good sport. Mugs Alley was skiable, but very thin and somewhat patchy, better riders should use the High Road to return to the lifts as this has good cover. Old Mugs Alley provides a more gentle route back to the mid-lifts for less experienced riders, but it comes out just below the Plateau Cafe.
A great base on the majority of the runs, but high winds forecast for coming days. Check the latest before traveling.
