Rannoch Chairlift doing its thing with spectacular views to the East Ridge off the Eastern side of the Plateau over Rannoch Moor.
|
Mugs Alley from the top of the Cliffhanger Chairlift, the steep pitch is worn, either head further out above the Rannoch Chair, or cut inside the fence line and follow the dog leg of good snow.

Laying out a turn on Rankins Return late in the afternoon.

Light beginning to fade as the Access Chair downloads those who stayed to the end and got the post 4pm clearance!
| Rankins Return is in pretty goo nick, some worn bits at the very top and merging into the Low Road, but easily passable on Sunday.
|
The Wall T-bar made its season debut on Sunday. It's pretty low tide on the uptick, so not comfortable for wee people!
| The Rannoch Chairlift and the East Ridge in the distance.

Good run back into the Rannoch Chair at the Top of the Access.
| Rannoch Chairlift has been transformational for progression terrain for early intermediates, providing direct access to a selection of longer greens.

Plateau Poma as skies start to clear again at the back 4pm - pretty typical Scottish weekend skiing weather!
| The gully on Old Mugs Alley (green) is filled flat, looking to the Canyon (black) and the Wall (red) in the distance.

The best snow of the day, perfect granular spring snow on the top 2/3rds of the Red Access Run.
| Fun spring snow turns on the low level Red Access Run, but completely combat below the infamous carnage corner. Alas going to be gone tomorrow.

Sunday actually started off windier than Saturday which was supposed to be the wilder day, but the wind did moderate and eventually things brightened up for a couple of periods in the afternoon.
Skies cleared again at dusk, allow temperatures and importantly the dew point to dip, so even remaining patches of low level snow around the car park are crunching up this evening. A decent frost before the wind and rain which is due on Monday will help the snowpack shed some of the rain before the thaw sets in.
There is now a promising depth in some locations of the hill, but other areas are thin with the snow from Storm Eoywn falling on largely bare ground. It looks unlikely that uplift will be able to run on Monday if the forecast wind speeds are correct, however the forecasts turned out to be a bit wayward on Saturday in terms of wind - however the overhead is expected to be pretty foul for much of Monday.
Check updates in the morning. Beyond, it is a case of seeing what dawn on Tuesday brings. Colder weather is set to return by mid-week, but it looks as if the medium term could be high pressure dominated, which would be great if it came in before not just after a thaw.
At close of play on Sunday, all mid mountain and Plateau runs were skiable. There are some thin / worn areas from heavy ski traffic on baseless snow, and narrow sections to negotiate, but today it still all connected up for easily moving around.
The sledge park at the Plateau Cafe is full length and full width. During the week is quieter for taking little ones and mid-week the weather is looking much better towards mid-week.
