Black Rock Cottage and the recently resurfaced access road.
| Hard at work?
|
Plateau Poma and Run - narrow but groomed can return to both Poma and Rannoch Chair.
| The coming days look great for teaching wee ones.
|
Heading for the Cliffhanger Chair. Best route from Rannoch Chair & Plateau Poma to the Cliffy is via Old Mugs Alley.
| What is over there? Perspective rather than precipice - its only the Plateau Poma run!
|
Skier heads onto Old Mugs Alley with epic views under bluebird skies.
| Plateau Poma doing its thing.
|
Heading onto Old Mugs Alley from the top of the Poma.
| So near and yet so far, for the upper mountain. Had we got Wednesdays snow without Mondays deluge the whole hill might be open in the sunshine.
|
Superb weather for sightseeing over the coming days, in the distance some sporty tracks on the Spring Run.
| Heading off down Mugs Alley from the Top of the Cliffhanger.
|
Looking up to the steeper corner of Mugs Alley from the Poma get off area. Mugs Alley is skiable to the Cliffy, but easier route via Old Mugs Alley.
| Huge views in all directions and the weather is set to stay like this through the weekend.

Beautiful weather and despite fairly limited snowsports on narrow and in places thin runs, there is a mix of terrain available covering green, blue and red terrain. The coming days will be great for teaching little ones around the Plateau Cafe and the sledge park is in fantastic shape and it was fast on Thursday!
Snow conditions have set up firmer than on Wednesday, and there has been some snow loss from some areas and small gains in others from the overnight weather. With dry air under high pressure, snow will be firm to start irrespective of whether air temperature is above or below freezing. The freezing level will fluctuate with intermittent inversion conditions over the coming days.
So likely a good idea to start where the machines have recently been, then follow the sun around the hill, as sunlit slopes did loosen up on Thursday.
It is possible to ski off the Access Chair and onto either the Plateau Poma or the Rannoch Triple Chair. From either lift the best route to the Cliffhanger is via Old Mugs Alley, past the Glencoe Ski Club Hut round by the Plateau Cafe.
Mugs Alley is groomed from the top of the Cliffhanger down onto Old Mugs Alley, but there are some thin bits, go carefully onto the steeper corner of Mugs Alley. Treat Mugs Alley as a blue rather than green.
Old Mugs Alley is in decent shape to the Plateau Cafe, but it is not possible to lap this route from the Rannoch Chair as the Access Return path is not skiable. Snow making with the snow factory is continuing in front of the cafe with a view to connecting a loop via the cafe to the Coire Pollach Tow, which would become the best option for snowplough turners / early intermediates if the Coire Pollach Tow can be opened.
Both the Low Road and Rankins Return are doable by more experienced skiers / riders for some variety and longer runs, but somewhat agricultural at the top and bottom of both, with wider cover in the middle.
