The exceptional May weather continues this weekend, indeed at least the first of next week should continue in a similar vein. Uncertainty for the bank holiday weekend at this stage.
There were a mix of walkers, sight seers, disc golfers, mountain bikers, paragliders and hang gliders up on Saturday. Access Chairlift opens at 9am, last uplift 4.15pm, but best to arrive earlier in the day and take in the views from the Creag Dhubh viewpoint which is approx 15-20minutes from the top of the chairlift.
Plateau Cafe is open on Sunday for hot / cold drinks and light snacks. You can do a loop walk to Creag Dhubh by loosely following the disc golf course from the Plateau Cafe up onto the ridge, then follow the ridge onto Creag Dhubh for epic views over Glen Etive to Buachaille Etive Mor.
Sadly there will be no mid summer slide for skiers and boarders this year, unless something truly awful happens to summer! Only a handful of small patches of snow clinging on, mostly in the gullies of the Main Basin, one small patch on the Spring Run.
The sledge park patch has expired, though it was fairly hefty, the shallow gradient and aspect greatly increased solar exposure of this patch vs the shaded rock gully patches on the Main Basin.
