A beautiful early January winters day, bright, cold and crisp, fantastic for the sightseers to take in the expansive winter vistas.
Had we not lost the early December snow, skiers and boarders would probably be happy to take some runs with this weather for festive sliding too! Also there is not sufficient snow for any skiing, and while snow showers and some drifting in strong overnight winds is forecast for the early hours of Friday, that doesn't look like changing until we get a proper winter storm again.
Much uncertainty about the track and depth of a low pressure system for the weekend and/or start of next week, but a big winter storm on the mountains is exactly what skiers and boarders are looking for just now.
In the meantime for those wanting to go sightseeing or sledging, enjoy the winter vistas on Friday, there maybe a few snow showers around, but also some sunny periods.
The sledge park got hammered on Thursday, but the snow factory is running and with snow showers due overnight, plus some drifting too, the sledge park should be nicely refreshed for Friday!
