A couple of photos as the sun went down on New Years Day from the Commando Memorial above Spean Bridge.
A much more seasonal panorama after an overnight transformation as cold air surged southwards. You could probably have navigated this carpark in a kayak on Hogmanay and the freezing level had been well above the tops.
Alas, while it looks nice and fairly white in the light of the setting sun, the cover is very much on the cosmetic end of the scale. There will be some snow showers over the coming days, but accumulations don't look like being significant near the West Coast in the short term at least.
However, the cold and dry conditions after so much rain, will hopefully set up some winter climbing conditions. Please note however, that Nevis Range is closing after Sunday 6th January until the start of the February half term period, so no climbers gondola will be available until early Feb.
