Loading area of the Rannoch Chair.

Rannoch Triple Chairlift doing its thing - without there would not have been any lift served riding yet!

Link from Top of the Rannoch Chair to Old Mugs Alley, Plateau Poma Run and the Low Road.

Plateau Run was seeing more action later as the bottom of the Low Road was becoming scrapped in the milder temperatures on Saturday afternoon.

Coire Pollach Uptrack was giving nice short radius turns. Hopefully something here will last to start a base.

Rankins Return wide and well covered higher up, but the fence line back to the lifts got scoured by the wind direction that loaded further up!

Rannoch Chairlift from Rankins Return.

Sledge Park in good shape and with a reasonable machine made base underneath, hopefully there is enough base to survive the onslaught from the next couple of days of rain!

Alas, what you can see in Saturdays photos is going to be historical information by the time first light comes in on Sunday morning as we head into 2 to 3 days of mild, incessantly wet and stormy conditions.

It is unlikely that the links back to the Rannoch Chair will survive through the night, let alone what is forecast for Sunday through Monday. Strong winds from the off on Sunday morning will ramp up progressively to Storm Force and remain there or there about through Monday.

It is almost certain the Access Chair will not be able to run Sunday or Monday, unless the forecast models are spectacularly wrong. So it looks like no avoiding the Christmas shopping, get your Christmas prep done and hope the potential new snow later next week shows up!

Worth keeping in mind that any opening at all in the West pre Christmas is historically rare, so this has been a nice wee bonus. Even in the East where early snow is more common, it has often arrived November or early December and nearly all gone by Christmas.

The Sledge Park, Coire Pollach Uptrack and a large part of Rankins Return are fairly well filled in and have been repeatedly packed down by machine, so fingers crossed that something makes it through to give the start of a base in these areas.
