Any one visiting over the summer and taking a ride up the Access Chair can study the Black Downhill MTB track from the chairlift.
As you glide through the air, ponder that in the time you have taken to pass the two wooden buildings at the top of the carpark after having got on the chairlift, today's fastest rider Sorley Swabey had ridden from the top to the bottom! Just 2 minutes 21 and a half seconds, to plunge down 1000 vertical feet!
The fastest time from June's race on the Red Downhill was 3m 03s by Joe Connell. Meanwhile on the women's side, Heather Wilson made it a double topping of the timing sheets at Glencoe, posting 3m24.8s in June on the Red and 2m59.3 today on the Black!
Taken together Heather and Sorely's runs mean juniors have topped both mens and women's overall times for an SDA event for the first time.
Bike tracks reopen to the public on Monday morning. Not the best start to Monday as overnight rain maybe fairly slow to clear, but after that a fantastic and progressively warmer week ahead.
