|
Going up the M1 Poma, SideTrack and RaceTrack good, but fast with very firm base under the fresh.

A couple of inches fresh snow lower down to probably 3-4 inches fresh up top with some windblown stashes, then chuck in bluebird weather above a sea of inversion mist and you have one fabulous Thursday on the 'Gorm.
The base is generally firm but grippy, though there is the occasional slicker patch with some icy bits in heavy traffic areas near the approach to the tows, but where pisted the surface conditions were great.
There is top to Daylodge riding on offer with the Carpark Run much improved via the Burnside option from earlier in the week, no problem returning to the Carpark level.
From Sheiling level up, the mountain retains extensive cover with pretty much total cover across the upper mountain. For intermediates the M2 was skiing superbly, while for more advanced riders the White Lady was the pick of the day.
Two piste bashers were working in the Fiacaill Terrain Park area through the afternoon, not sure if new features were going on or just reshaping the variety of rollers that were out that way.
Another fine inversion day with good sunny spells forecast Friday, get up there and enjoy it. Daylodge Poma will run at weekend (& Friday if demand) which will provide a quick return to the top if the M1 is busy at the weekend.
